The battle of wearing your cosy winter jumpers and sweltering vs clinging onto your summer clothes in the wind and freezing to death has begun! Autumn in England is unpredictable, to say the least, and with the constant temperature change, it’s no surprise that most people get demotivated with their diet and well-being around this time of year. So, we’ve put together some useful and simple tips for how to stay healthy this autumn season.

Oh and you can forget knowing whether to put the central heating on too, because you will, 9 times out of 10, get it wrong! Instead here's how to stay healthy this Autumn season:

Eat the Season

Although Autumn means the nights start to get darker and the weather a little colder, the great news is that you get to taste so many delicious fruits and vegetables that are in season. Not only do they all taste great, but buying things in season are often cheaper as they are more readily available. Here are just a few of the foods that are tasting great this Autumn:

  • Apples
  • Kale
  • Root Vegetables
  • Brussel Sprouts
  • Pomegranate
  • Cabbage
  • Carrots
  • Pears
  • Plums

Get Your Vitamin D

Notice how your body feels in the summer compared to winter? Glowing skin, glossy hair and radiating health? (Not quite, but you get the gist). Well, you have sunshine and vitamin D to thank for it! Sadly, in the Autumn and Winter, the shorter, darker days mean we miss out on reaping the benefits so much. That’s why taking a Vitamin D supplement can aid in keeping you healthy this Autumn season by boosting your mood and immune system! Did you know many of our exante meal replacements contain Vitamin D?

Layer up

With the unpredictability of the British weather this season, layers are the answer when it comes to what to wear this season. We’re often caught off guard with the colder days, usually totally unprepared and land ourselves with a cold. Be prepared with extra layers so you’re ready for whatever weather Autumn throws your way.

Exercise for a Healthy Autumn

It’s always the temptation to curl up on the sofa and binge on Netflix every night as we head into Winter. And while we’re certainly not suggesting you don’t do that, we recommend that alongside it that you find some time to get some exercise in. Try and get outdoors during the daylight hours, whether it’s for a brisk walk on your lunch break or a bike ride on the weekend. Your body and mind will thank you for it.

Have a Cuppa

The easiest tip of all to stay healthy this Autumn season; a warm, comforting cup of tea or coffee. We recommend a DIY cuppa using your favourite spices such as ginger and cinnamon. Simply add a piece of fresh ginger, a cinnamon stick to boiling water and enjoy! Liquorice teas are also a great go-to for sore throats if you’re already feeling under the weather.

Remember, you can have as much herbal tea and black coffee as you want on any of the Exante plans!
