Here at Exante HQ, we have been on the hunt for a new 'Face of Exante' to represent and support all of you lovely, dedicated people. After lots of amazing transformations headed our way, we knew we needed to find someone that had not only transformed the way they look, but their lifestyle too. That's when we met Rosie...

I've helped inspire, motivate and give back to other women wanting to lead a healthier lifestyle!

Q. Welcome to the Exante Family Rosie! Tell us a little bit more about yourself.

A. I'm 28 years old from Beautiful Yorkshire! I'm a single mum and live with my daughter, Ellie. I've worked in marketing for a travel company for the last 4 years, which has fed my passion for travel. I also my run my own fitness blog - Fat Girl Getting Fit, which has been life-changing for me in many aspects. It's held me accountable for my own weight loss goals and given me so much more confidence in myself. However, most importantly it's allowed me to help inspire, motivate and give back to other women wanting to lead a healthier lifestyle!

Q. Tell us about your daughter, Ellie. Is she passionate about health and fitness and how do you get her involved in your lifestyle?

A. I had Ellie when I was 16, but I defied all the odds and still managed to make something of myself. We're super close and do everything together! We live in the countryside so we often go for long walks and jogs together, she loves fitness! I really believe that fitness and nutrition should be taught from a young age. I didn't know anything about nutrition until my 20's, which I think is what led to me struggling with my weight for most of my life.

I'm a firm believer of setting SMART goals. Something that you are emotionally connected to, with a deadline, is so important.

Q. What motivated you to make a change in your life and lose weight?

A. I have yo-yo dieted for over a decade. 2 years ago I just said to myself, enough is enough and decided to really get into nutrition and weight management. I created a blog to hold me accountable and it went viral! Having over 130,000 women supporting me and cheering me on really helped to keep me motivated. I'm a firm believer of setting SMART goals. Something that you are emotionally connected to, with a deadline, is so important.

Q. What was your main goal?

A. Getting  FIT was actually my main goal. Obviously, weight loss is a big part of that – but I think it’s so important (especially as a woman in this day and age) that we don’t focus on the numbers on the scales - they don't define you! I pay more attention to my progress photos and how I feel in my own body.

Q. What was your biggest challenge during your weight loss journey?

A. My biggest challenge was overcoming my own battles, in particular, the emotional attachments I had with food. After a rough day, binge eating would cheer me up – but then I’d get into a vicious cycle of having a bad day because I ‘felt fat’. I have struggled with eating disorders in the past – which at my worst would see me starve myself for days.

It’s difficult to change a decade of physically and mentally abusing your body. You can’t change those bad habits in one week! It’s about taking things one step at a time and noticing the signs when you feel yourself drifting back into those bad habits.

Q. How did you find the Exante products fit into your lifestyle and did you have any favourites?

A. The bars and protein chips are fantastic for times I need protein after working out. It’s important to get protein into your body after exercising and using the Exante products means I still feel like I’m having a treat!

My favourite was definitely the salt and vinegar protein crisps. I’ve always loved savoury food more than sweet, and these are gorgeous! Perfect for pre or post‐workout for that extra protein, whilst still being low calories.

Q. What have you learned throughout the process and what advice would you give to people struggling to lose weight?

A. I've learned that it is a process. You're going to have good days and bad days, but the most important thing is that you are not alone. I've also learned that we're our own worst critics. Some weeks I would feel fed up and less patient if I wasn't seeing the scales budge. I’ve learnt how to stop myself doing this and to allow the process to happen as it should happen. Helping and inspiring other people has definitely allowed me to be kinder to myself.

As I mentioned before, goal setting is so important. So really take some time out to think about your goals and break these down further into mini goals that you can achieve weekly. I also like making a goal board I can look at every day and turn to if I need extra motivation. It has photos of me at my ideal weight, personal goals and inspirational quotes.

Rosie's next big goal is to travel the world with her daughter in December. She'll be climbing mountains in New Zealand and trekking through the jungle in Thailand, all while keeping a healthy lifestyle and enjoying the healthy, delicious cuisine that other countries have to offer. We will be following Rosie's fitness journey around the world - so watch this space!
