The leaves are turning golden brown, there's frost on the windows, and the Christmas markets are starting to pop up around the cities of Europe...yes, October and November are very busy months for weekend city hopping!
Exante City Break

For those of us planning a little city break, a weekend of eating out poses as a major challenge to our diet routine. So, we've come up with 4 tips on how to enjoy your weekend away, without coming back with excess (body) baggage, that'll leave you with the post-holiday blues!

Did you know the average person gains around 8-10lbs on holiday? These simple hacks can make all the difference to preventing weight gain...

1 | Make Better Menu Choices

Yes, that free bread basket with dips they bring to your table abroad is very appealing, but won't help your weight loss strategy!

The key here is to gravitate towards healthier restaurants or menu options serving good carbs like couscous and salads. Fill up on protein like chicken and do not touch that olive oil soaked bread!

2 | Walking Is Your Secret Weapon

You're less likely to pile on the pounds if you keep moving on holiday! We're not saying use the hotel gym, or go for a run (it's your holiday) but the best form of exercise is simply walking, and then some!

A museum here, a walk along the river there, it all adds up to a serious amount of walking. You'd actually be surprised by how many calories and steps you tot up when your sightseeing!

3 | Have One Treat

You are on holiday, for heaven's sake! Allow yourself one treat - that one food item (probably the local delicacy) - and really savour it! It'll taste so much nicer than having it every day and you'll be rewarding yourself for being healthy throughout your mini break!

4 | Pack Exante

By plane, ferry, or train - however you prefer to travel over the border and around your chosen city destination, make sure you're always carrying a couple of Exante bars to keep you going and prevent you from making the wrong food choices.

City exploring means a LOT of walking around, which often zaps our energy levels, leaving us feeling hungry. An Exante bar is enriched with over 22 vitamins and minerals and is high in protein is keep you full of energy as you enjoy exploring. It also means you'll resist the temptation to buy high-fat fast food!

Here's a selection of our favourite on-the-go choices...
